Roger Taylor Format: Audio CD Editorial Review
**** "Fun In Space" by Roger Taylor has been celebrated as a remarkable solo album that showcases the multi-talented drummer of Queen. Written, sung, and nearly entirely performed by Taylor himself, this record stands apart from his work in Queen while still capturing the essence of his artistic vision. Fans who appreciate Taylor's contributions to Queen will likely find joy in this cosmic journey through themes of heartache, love, and the vibrant spirit of rock 'n roll. The album's eclectic sound encompasses a variety of genres and styles, deviating from a fixed category and allowing listeners to experience a refreshing blend of rock music infused with science fiction elements. This unique quality sets "Fun In Space" apart even after 36 years since its release. Many reviewers noted that the effort Taylor put into the album's artwork matches the creativity found within the music, enhancing its overall artistic value. While some listeners enter with expectations rooted in Queen's signature sound, they discover that Taylor’s solo endeavor cultivates a new experience. Strong tracks such as "No Violins," "Good Times Are Now," and "My Country" have evoked passion and nostalgia, particularly for those who cherished the moments when Taylor's songs graced Queen albums. His voice and songwriting Consistency have earned praise, and even after a long interval, fans who revisited the album have found it resonant and engaging. However, note that this album may not appeal to die-hard Queen fans expecting a traditional sound akin to the band. Those with a penchant for eclectic rock and experimental tracks will appreciate it the most. Overall, "Fun In Space" emerges as a compelling listen for both longstanding admirers and new listeners craving rock music with a distinctive flair. **
