shubb Editorial Review

The Shubb AX Reversible Guitar Slide has garnered a mixed reception among its users, blending enthusiasm with practical concerns. Reviewers are particularly charmed by its innovative design, which allows for quick switching between playing styles during live performances—a feature that resonates well with both professional guitarists and those new to slide playing. Many appreciate the control offered by the slide, praising its ability to help achieve a smooth, bluesy tone, notably on resonator guitars. However, there are notable criticisms surrounding the weight and the handling of the slide. Some users find it to be too heavy, detracting from its intended ease of use in live settings. The smoothness with which it spins when switching between fingers has also raised concerns, with several reviewers feeling this feature may lead to a loss of control. Furthermore, some have noted that they had to use the largest insert despite having average-sized fingers, suggesting a mismatch between the product's fit and ergonomic expectations. Ultimately, while the Shubb AX presents a compelling option for those seeking versatility in slide guitar, its execution may leave some potential users feeling frustrated and leaning back towards traditional slides. The concept is appreciated, but the practical delivery seems to have room for improvement. **
