OXO Mandolines 11391800 Editorial Review

The OXO Good Grips Precision Handheld Mandoline has received a robustly positive reception from customers, who appreciate its compact design, user-friendly features, and safety enhancements that set it apart from traditional mandolins. Many users were initially hesitant to use mandolins due to perceived dangers or complexity, but this model has successfully changed that perception. Customers love the integrated storage for the food holder, which locks onto the back of the mandoline, simplifying both use and storage. They frequently commend the ease with which they can adjust slicing thickness using a side lever, which allows for smooth transitions between various cut sizes without needing to swap out blades. The inclusion of a clear plastic window for viewing slices also garnered kudos, as it adds to the efficiency of use. The design also includes non-slip features, ensuring stability while slicing, which enhances both safety and precision. On the downside, some users pointed out that the mandoline is limited when it comes to larger vegetables, as they may need to be trimmed before use. Additionally, softer produce like tomatoes can be problematic, often resulting in mashing rather than clean cuts. A few users noted that the julienne function might not be as Consistent for softer items, but it performs admirably with tougher vegetables. Overall, the OXO mandoline is hailed as an excellent tool for home cooks looking to simplify meal prep without compromising safety or efficiency. **
