- Pieces is the first book translated into Turkish by award-winning British writer of Nigerian origin, Helen Oyeyemi. A love and mystery story set in a surprising atmosphere that we are used to seeing in the films of directors such as Wes Anderson and David Lynch. Lovers ghost hypnotist Otto and ghostwriter Xavier Shin are sent on their ‘non-honeymoon honeymoon by Xavier's aunt Do Yeon-ssi. This so-called honeymoon and the entire story takes place on an old smuggler train called The Lucky Day, which looks like a strange creature. The owner of the train, theremin virtuoso Ava Kapoor, her composer lover Allegra Yu, and Laura de Souza, who gets on the train to guarantee the collection of Ava's debts, accompany them on this journey. As new questions arise along with clues to the root causes of the journey, Otto and Xavier begin to notice the connections to their past that bring them together. Pieces is a surprising novel that reveals the vastness of Oyeyemi's limitless imagination.
